This Project is for the Miki Public Japanese Garden that the city of Visalia, California is going to begin construction on in May. They've contacted me to do the Entry Design, and hopefully the Build :- ) This is being organized by many of the same people who designed and built the Shinzen Friendship garden in neighboring Fresno http://www.shinzenjapanesegarden.org/

This beautiful Entry would be built with Fine, Quality Craftsmanship, using the nicest and most appropriate materials. The Roofed Entry Design, although in a Japanese Style, is my own interpretation of the Irimoya, or what I call an Azumaya style roof, and is built using Western instead of Asian roof framing members and techniques.

You can see more images of the same style roof here (on a 5' wide gate)                                   http://woodsshop.com/Japanese_gate_plans.htm

There's a 10' wide Roofed Entry Gate, then 10' of fencing to either side,

then two 10' fence sections on a 45.

We'd pre-fab all three roofs, complete with shingles, and the four fence sections,
(down here in the San Diego area)
then haul it 300 miles North up the to the foot of the Sierras, and Yosemite, and install it.

The lumber used will be clear, kiln dried, vertical grained Old Growth western red cedar,

http://woodsshop.com/WesternRedCedarDetails.htm  one of the nicest and most long-lasting Outdoor Woods.

See us working this beautiful material, building a

5’ wide Roofed Entry Gate http://woodsshop.com/How%20To/BuildAJapaneseGate.htm

Azumaya http://woodsshop.com/Gazebo_Kits/Gazebo_Kit_Photos.htm

and Moon Gate http://woodsshop.com/MoonGate/Moon_Gate.htm

We carefully detail and hand sand this material, giving it the care and respect it deserves. All fasteners will be stainless steel or silica bronze.

The fencing would look similar to this project http://woodsshop.com/closeup/deck02_7.htm
