This is a 10' x 12' Curved Roof Azumaya installed in southern California

Review from my Customer- May 2013

I purchased a set of plans for the 10’ x 12’ curved roof Azumaya from Joe Wood,

had him customize it a little to my preferences, then ordered the Kit from Joe. 

He precision milled it all from beautiful clear kiln-dried, tight vertical grain

Western Red Cedar from Vancouver Island. 

The wood is breathtaking in its beauty. Joe really took care to round the corners and carefully applied the Penofin stain. Each Azumaya is a labor of love for Joe,

who has elevated his craft to an art. 

  All the pieces were finely milled and everything fit perfectly.

Within a few months of weekend work, the structure was ready for the roof covering. 

Throughout the assembly process, Joe constantly provided his seasoned advice and quickly answered any questions through email. 

The result is fabulous, even though the roof covering is not on yet.  The Azumaya already makes my San Pedro garden a sanctuary of serenity.

   Joe, here is the nearly complete project.  I just lack a few cosmetic details.  It has sure been fun working with this wood.  I started in March and worked only weekends so the whole project including foundation work took 75 days of labor. 

The quality of the wood from both you and Learned Lumber was superb. The precision milling from you was phenomenal.  Thank you for a great experience and an elegant, artful and serene product.
